Apostle Michael
Wayne Bethel
Apostle Michael Wayne Bethel was born in Danville, Virginia and spent 22 years at Mount Zion United Holiness Church before moving to Delaware in 1974. After a devastating car accident, he fully gave his life to the Lord. His path into ministry included an apprenticeship with Gospel Association of America the Church of God in Chestertown, Maryland, followed by ordination as an elder in 1981.
He founded Bethel Evangelistic Ministries in 1984 and Holy Bethel the Church of God in Newark two years later. His ministry would grow through the United States, Jamaica, the Eastern Caribbean, Ghana, and Togo while also reaching listeners and viewers through decades of radio and television preaching. Holy Bethel’s biography records ministry across four continents, eight countries, twenty-two states, and more than 450 cities.

He is the husband of Lady Yvonne B. Bethel and father of four daughters: Shirvon, Yvette, Deborah, and Hannah.

Yvonne Bethel
Lady Yvonne Bethel was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Amelia, Virginia. After beginning her professional career as a chemist, she and Apostle Bethel moved to Delaware, where she served actively in church ministry while building a career that included work as a staff scientist at DuPont in Wilmington.
At Holy Bethel, Lady Bethel has served as a founding member, senior elder, administrator, Sunday School superintendent, ordained minister, missionary, and secretary of Bethel Evangelistic Ministries. Her ministry has included radio and television broadcasting as well as evangelistic travel throughout the United States, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad, Ghana, and Togo. The church describes her as an encourager with a kind and selfless spirit who loves the Lord, her family, and people.
